Flatrock Compression’s board members bring our company more than 100 years of diverse oil and gas experience in areas that range from operations to investments.

Stephen R. Dutton

Stephen R. Dutton is a principal in Nueces Marketing Partners, Ltd., a private investment partnership. While at Nueces, Stephen has been actively involved in the growth of seven portfolio companies. Other active investments include oil and gas royalties, commercial real estate, hospitality and agriculture. From 1988 to 1993, prior to his role as an active investor, he founded and operated three telecommunications companies: Travis Telecom, Inc., Travis Telecom of West Texas, Inc. and Call Home America, Inc. Early in his career, he was a commercial and ranch real estate broker in San Antonio and, prior to that, a natural gas buyer for Valero Energy in Corpus Christi. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned an MBA with honors from Trinity University in San Antonio.  He served for 11 years as an adjunct professor at the Trinity School of Business, teaching an upper division course on entrepreneurship.

Brian McDonald

President

Brian McDonald has more than 24 years of oil and gas industry experience. He has held commercial and technical leadership positions for GE Oil & Gas, Weatherford Global Compression Services, Gardner Denver and Cooper Industries. Prior to joining Flatrock Compression, Brian was the North America Product Line Manager for GE Oil & Gas covering upstream, midstream and downstream compression products. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Lawrence Technological University, and both a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from Texas A&M University.

David W. Murdock

David Murdock has 37 years of experience in the natural gas compression industry. He currently serves as an adviser to equity-backed energy companies specializing in contract compression services and specialty compressor products distribution.  For 32 years, David held senior management and leadership positions at Compressor Systems, Inc. including president and chief operating officer. He has served as president of the Gas Compressor Association and has been a board member of numerous other energy industry organizations throughout his career. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University.

Joe R. Peacock, Jr.

Joe R. Peacock, Jr. has more than 30 years experience in the acquisition and sale of oil and gas properties as a partner at Peacock Oil & Gas Properties, Ltd., where he works with geologists, engineers, geophysicists and land personnel to develop oil and gas drilling opportunities. In addition to exploration and development opportunities, Joe has a minerals management consulting business and acquires both producing and non-producing mineral interests for his own account. He also manages investments in commercial real estate and ranching. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance.

Andrew D. Zacharias, CFA

Andrew D. Zacharias is a principal at LKCM Private Discipline Management, L.P. and LKCM Headwater Investments. He joined the firm in 2005 as a private equity manager. Prior to joining LKCM, Andrew served as a vice president for Pacesetter Capital Group, chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Street Advisor and worked in the Corporate Finance Group at Bear Stearns. Andrew graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and accounting from Texas Christian University.  He also earned his MBA and Master's degree in engineering management at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He started his career in finance as an intern for LKCM.
